Cheryl Clanahan is a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant who earned her Associates Degree in Applied Science from Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC). Cheryl views Physical Therapy as an integral component of maintaining optimal body mechanics and knows first-hand how Physical Therapy plays a role in keeping her and her family members active in their lives. Her confidence in the profession led her to choose it as a second career when she decided to return to the workforce.
Cheryl is fortunate to have had the opportunity to volunteer and observe physical therapy in multiple settings, including an Outpatient Orthopedic Clinic, an Acute Care Joint Replacement Clinic, and a Skilled Nursing Facility. These experiences have provided Cheryl with a heightened understanding of the key stages of Physical Therapy treatment necessary for helping others through the healing process. Cheryl also brings her perspective as a military spouse supporting her husband in his active duty Air Force career while maintaining their household through multiple moves. For nearly two decades, Cheryl has dedicated herself to raising their two children who are now excelling as college students and volunteering for organizations such as MOPS, Military Spouse Officer Clubs, and Parent-Teacher Associations. Prior to choosing a stay-at-home career, Cheryl was a licensed alcohol and drug abuse counselor for adolescents and Clinical Program Director for treatment and intervention programs. She strives to help people she meets to develop healthy lifestyles that better enables individuals to achieve their goals. Cheryl is excited about joining the team at Source Physical Therapy & Wellness as another opportunity to make a difference in the community she calls her new home.
