Dr. Michael O’Connor has been a practicing orthopedic physical therapist since 1999. His interest in physical therapy originated from a life long involvement in a variety of sports, including: basketball, skiing, golf, and ice hockey. While pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Rutgers University, in his home state of New Jersey, he sustained a complex hand fracture which required surgery. This was Dr. O’Connor’s first introduction to the remarkable healing power of physical therapy.
Dr. O’Connor successfully completed his Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy (MS PT) in 1999 from Marymount University in Arlington, VA. Dedicated as a practitioner of life long learning, Dr. O’Connor returned to Marymount University and successfully completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree in 2008. In this challenging health care environment, he and his colleagues continue to provide cost effective services in practice settings which allow the patient to receive exceptional one-on-one evidence based treatment, delivered by the same treating therapist. From his experiences, Dr. O’Connor believes that with the proper clinical setting, clinicians, and motivated patients, there is no better alternative PT.
